Pottinger teams up with the farmers of tomorrow in South West Wales.

Following an invitation from John Hancock of Carmarthenshire College, Landmec Pottinger hosted a series of technical instruction seminars on Pottinger products for in excess of 70 students at the Gelli Aur campus.

The seminars were held during the course of one day with students from agricultural and engineering courses. Each seminar commenced with a short introduction to Pottinger the company, its history and product range. The students were then able to move out into the modern and well equipped workshop facilities at the college.

Landmec Pottinger held sessions on three key grass harvesting products for this important livestock farming area of Wales. In these sessions students were able to experience the more practical aspect of machine operation and maintenance.

The Pottinger MEX VI trailed forager harvester is a well established product in this area with many student's families operating these on their home farm. Technical instructors from Landmec Pottinger gave instruction on how to get the best from these legendary foragers and included guidance on maintenance of this popular machine.

An introduction to the multi award winning front mounted mower condition was the focus of the group inspecting the NovaCat Alpha Motion 306 FED. With the mower mounted to the Landmec Pottinger interactive demonstration frame instructors were able to demonstrate just why this machine has picked up so many accolades and awards during 2006.

Something of considerable interest to students was the EuroProfi 4000L loader wagon. With in excess of 10% on the nations milk produced in this area of Wales efficient forage harvesting is of high importance and the EuroProfi didn't fail to impress. Students were keen to hear of the potential cost savings these wagons could bring to the forage harvesting process.

The day proved so successful many students asked to come back to later sessions during the day to gain a further working knowledge of Pottinger equipment.
