TRP SCOTLAND OPEN DAY

Despite almost arctic like conditions a good turnout of local contractors were present at the recent TRP Scotland Open Day held at their Forgandenny premises. Presented with a howling wind and lashing rain and sleet most visitors headed straight for the bbq and hot drinks, but once suitably warmed they headed out around the premises to inspect the products on display.

LAMMA 2010 - Newark, Nottinghamshire - 20/21 January 2010

Despite more than three weeks of ice and snow at the end of December and beginning of January the weather relented in the week leading up to the LAMMA Show to make the Show days cold but dry.

We arrived on site to find conditions underfoot extremely good and a credit to the organisers.  This show goes from strength to strength now with an incredible 600 exhibitors and, for us, at LandMec Pöttinger, our busiest LAMMA Show ever.

SERVO 45S PLOUGH FIND FAVOUR WITH CHESHIRE CONTRACTOR
For Cheshire contractor James Darbyshire ploughing is still very much a key part of his annual work load. Located near Warrington just off the busy M56 motorway James offers a full range of services to his customers which includes muck spreading, forage harvesting, big square baling and combining alongside a full cultivation and drilling service for a wide range of crops including maize and cereals

SCOTGRASS, Crichton Royal, Dumfries
This year it was the turn of Scotland to play host to the national working grassland demonstration returning to the same venue as in 2007.  Despite some bitterly cold temperatures in the weeks leading up to the event and even a ground frost on the morning of the demonstration there was a reasonable crop of grass on our 4 acre plot.

Emyr Evans Ltd- North Wales Grassland Demonstration Day
This MF / Fendt dealer has two depots – one at Denbigh and the other at Gaerwen, Anglesey.  The Evans family took on the Pottinger franchise three years ago and decided to give this new venture a boost by having a Working Demo Day at Glynllifon College.

Burden Bros Agri Ltd - Working Tillage Demonstration
One of the best days so far this year saw Burden Brothers Agri Ltd hold a working tillage field demonstration day just outside the town of Ringmer, East Sussex.  The weather was excellent and dried out the previously very wet conditions, with the demo field still under water a week before!

The Dairy Event and Livestock Show 2009 - 16/17th September 2009
This year’s event the last to be held at The Royal Showground, Stoneleigh Park was bustling with good optimism despite the low milk prices and recent industry troubles concerning the sudden demise of Dairy Farmers of Britain.

Tillage - South Down Ampney, Gloucestershire - Tuesday 15th September 2009
With the last few weeks being without rain the ground conditions at this year’s Southern Tillage demonstration event were hard going to say the least. Visitors were certainly pleased that they would see all the equipment on the 20 working demonstration plots given a reasonable test in this Gloucestershire brash clay loam soil.

Power in Action, Hyde Parker Farms, Long Melford, Suffolk. - Wednesday 9th September 2009.
Held every 2 years Power in Action this year celebrated its 30th anniversary and has seen this local tillage demonstration event become more of a regional event since it began in 1979. Despite some parts of the UK suffering record rainfall levels in the past few weeks this part of Eastern England has really seen no rain for many weeks now and this was certainly evident judging by the hard ground conditions at this year’s event.
